Tanzanian striped housies

Tanzanian striped housies

Postby marc bt » Mon Jul 20, 2009 11:51 am

Goodday guys & gals,
lately i have been so interested in house snakes that it has caused me to go seeking for something a little different.
I have contacted a breeder in PE that has some captive bred Tanzanian striped house snakes, so i will be getting a pair when soon.
All i need is the following info:
What kind of heating should i go for, any at all?
Substrate?
Is there anyone else that keep these, if so what are they like to keep and any other demands that i should know about?
Any other info welcome. :-)

Have you asked the guy who bred them how he keeps his? Id say do what he does.

Okay i see what you mean now.
The snakes that i am getting are babies(second generation captive bred) from a pair that where bred by Gavins imports.
I can't wait!

The true lineatus is amazing. Think it was mentioned that they can be temperamental buggers. I would love some.

They would make a nice addition to any collection.

Just becarefull when dealing with breeder you don't know, there is alot of striped capensis floating around.

These so called Tanzanian striped house snakes i find quite often in namaqualand  I would love to know where they actually originate from (the "Tanzanian" ones that is :D ). Right here in SA there are about 10 different colour/patterned BHS, from the "albino" right up to the patternless with iluminous eyey brows. Pretty awsome bu ti hav enot been able to keep them alive for longer than 2 years :(
