Normal housie behavior??

Normal housie behavior??

Postby Aaxel » Wed Sep 07, 2011 8:18 pm

Hi all,

I know alot of my posts have been house snake related, but I was just curious about whether its normal for a snake to make a break for it when going to be picked up or approached. Could this be a sign of stress??
Sorry for all the questions I have been asking lately, I just love my snakes so much, I just want them to be as happy as possible. :)

That is fairly normal in snakes that sometimes aren't at all used to being handled.

Perfectly normal.

My housies do it and they are perfectly happy. Housies are more likely to make a run for it when threatened rather than bite. So I think Its normal.

Hope I helped

When hatchlings or still young juveniles they tend to jerk their bodies almost in a whipping motion quite violently.
As they get older they just make a beeline away from the perceived threat.
