only ever males

Postby Aaxel » Sun Apr 29, 2012 5:23 pm

Hi all.

When i go herping i often find house snakes, yet i have never laid my eyes on a female, only ever males. How can males be that much more prolific than females?

Don't know much on the subject, but maybe they're looking for mates?

I have always had the same experience in the GP aria, and when i did eventually find females they were huge.
But every smallish BHS was a male.

As Mr Venom said, I would think that most of the female remain very hidden, even underground, and the males have to travel around to find them, hence males being found.
What a world....

Aaxel how sure are you on the sexes?
Often one finds allot of male house snakes whilst road cruising.

I go by tail dimensions. Males have a long and stocky tail, females have a short very tapered one.
