They are nice snakes, just keep an eye on the male, they tend to have phases, sometimes they eat sometimes they don't( well that's my experience in any case), Your female looks "Wow" she has a nice yellow colour to her and don't feed them together, do it separately
as long as you keep quiet, no one will notice that your dumb

Nice snakes. I've got 4 at the moment (2 males and 2 females, all about a year old now). I keep them all in the same cage but i take them out to feed them. My females ate straight away but I struggled for months with the males, had to resort to geckos and lizards found around the house. Once they start eating they don't stop though and this can also be problem. I feed my fuzzies every 1-2 weeks. The males do go off feeding every now and then, sometimes not eating for a months or two. Forgot how small these snakes are when they born, makes me realise that mine have actually grown a lot.

A friend of mine had a pair just like yours, but his slightly larger female ate his male, is this common?

@ Jamster - It isn't commen, but if every Idiot(herper sorry), feed White lips together than it will turn out as a common thing, if you want to feed them together than stand and watch with a hookstick untill they are finished, it happens very quickly.

@ Urucone- thats just it, it wasnt feeding response related, it happened between feeds, I guess it was just one of those things. :smt017

Nice snakes. Still one of the favourites no matter how common.

Re feeding together - It happens very quickly. I just had an experience with my albino kaouthia. I only put them together for the breeding season, otherwise all snakes are housed seperately.

I fed them and in retrospect I should have taken one out. I gave each a thawed rat (they are about 1.6m each) on opposite sides of the cage. They bit it in usual style and waited.

I sat and watched with the hook stick, and as soon as the one snake moved to start eating the rat, the other shot across the cage and bit it on the head. I intervened with the hook stick and it released. Luckily no blood or harm done.

Caught them mating the other day so obviously all is forgotten :-)

The point is I thought I could stop it before it would happen, but there was no way. Be careful.
