Is this cruel?

Is this cruel?

Postby mania » Wed Jan 29, 2014 11:46 pm

I got a couple of white lipped tree vipers hatchlings from family friends, and one of them sits in the container with its head completely sideways. At times it does go back to normal, but if I take it out to change the paper towels, it tries to slither off but whole body then turns upside down. The others are in perfect condition. Is it cruel to keep this little one alive or should he be put down?

It will probably never lead a full and happy life so it would be better to have it put out. If the vet does not want to touch venomous snakes then a swift smack on the head with a hammer will stop its suffering immediately.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.

Ok thanks Arno I will take it to a vet soon. Yeah I was worried it may be selfish with me trying to keep this snake alive.
