Pythonodipsas do you house most of your animals in pairs year round? or are they separated and put together come breeding season?
again well done, testament to good husbandry skills.

Thanks Steve, I generally keep things separate and put them together in breeding season.

Totally missed this topic. Awesome! One of the last species I want to add to my collection.

Hopefully you'll have a nice clutch.

THEY HAVE STARTED HATCHING!

Ok so the female dropped 15 eggs on the 9th of November 2009 of which 3 were bad. So 12 eggs have been incubating the last 2 odd months and this morning i see this:

I also see one more egg is brown so it might not hatch - that leaves 11 good eggs.

If they haven't all pipped by the end of day i think i will start cutting some eggs.

Woohoo! Baby nigricinctas! I will post more pics here as they hatch.

Congratulations Craig! This is quite an achievement. I can’t wait to see captive bred nigricinctas!

Just watch the fangs while cutting the eggs. Often people do not realise how readily they will bite even as they are hatching.

So we will be seeing more pictures tomorrow then?

Still only one head out. I'm getting anxious as no other eggs have pipped at all. When do I cut? I was maybe gonna start tonight or should i cut earlier?

The one that's out is only showing half its head. Stay tuned for pics...

Dont be shy cut them all straight away. It cannot do any harm even if you cut a vein. Trust me on that one.

Cut a great big window flap in the eggs.

.
One baby has been poking its head out since 6am.

So i doused my anxiety, took BV's advice and cut...

All 11 babies are healthy and move in the egg when prodded. Now we wait - I'll post more pics as they progress.

Is it Christmas again?
