Red Spitting Cobra hatchlings

Postby Nivea » Sat Mar 06, 2010 11:22 am

These little beauties hatched yesterday.

Having never seen Red spitter hatchlings before, I was quite surprised by their colour.

When do they start showing there "red"?

He looks like a football player with that black eye stripe.
If I'm gonna be an old, lonely man, I'm gonna need a thing, you know, a hook, like that guy on the subway who eats his own face. So I figure I'll be Crazy Man with a Snake, y'know. Crazy Snake Man. And I'll get more snakes, call them my babies, kids won't walk past my place, they will run. "Run away from Crazy Snake Man, " they'll shout!”

The babies I have seen have all looked like mulberries. Possibly these will colour up soon. Lets hope so.

Very nice. Hope they colour up nicely for you.

There were 3 that hatched out.

@Steve- I will be selling them, but only once they had shed and eaten a few times.

I am expecting them to colour very nicely, both parents are very nice. the male is a deep red and the female is a much lighter red. I like her alot.

They seem to be quite big for being fresh hatchlings.

Beatiful animals anyway.

They still with us and they have started there nonsense. They were big and fat babies. The first time one spat and it got me on the eye lid. Nivea got hit just the other day past the corner of his glasses. They are feeding very well on thawed and starting to get some red to them. They are looking for homes still as we have been dropped buy false promises.
