你好世界 (Hello world in Chinese)

你好世界 (Hello world in Chinese)

Postby vuduman » Tue Jan 11, 2011 10:49 am

I quickly checked up on the eggs yesterday afternoon and I noticed a little head pipping out.

Naja atra (Chinese cobras) are busy hatching after 56 days. This is what makes all the efford worth it at the end :)
Here's the little guys starting to cut through the eggshell using their eggtooth.

You can clearly see the eggtooth in this picture under his top lip.

Here's the first little guy out and spreading his first hood.

Too cute :)

Awesome - you must be very happy!
You know, you can touch a stick of dynamite, but if you touch a venomous snake it’ll turn around and bite you and kill you so fast it’s not even funny.

Well done Fedo some of your hard work has really paid off that is a solid result mate.
Ryuu the flavoviridis and okinavensis species are now split and fall under Protobothrops and Ovophis respectively.

Well done Ferdo! They are such cute cobras. At what temperature did you incubate the eggs?

Those are some very pretty babies. How dangerous is their venom against our local species cobra?

I was there last nite & watched them hatch. Was the first time I witnessed the hatching process, was very cool to see.

Amazing to see the size of them compared to the size of the egg. Awesome to see them hood & "ready for action" as soon as they are born.

Congrats Ferdo!
