Cobra

As we know, sight and hearing are less important to snakes than smell and taste. We classify snakes, as being deaf as the least developed senses is the ear with no outside eardrums to distinguish airborne sound.
There is evidence that the lungs are used to “hear”. Snakes sense sound waves coming through the air as tiny vibrations on the skin. These vibrations travel from the skin through the air-filled lung to the nerves of the inner ear. This would be to the animal’s advantage if not in direct body contact with surface vibration.

Enlightened??

Thanks Inc.
