hi gaboon,

sure, kingcobras are cobras to. the term "true cobras" only pointed to the genus Naja. in our case, its always a bit complicated. if you do research in the field and you get only very few informations like "on this particular island live 2 cobra species", what does it said? nothing, if one of this 2 the kingcobra. the systematics of philippine reptiles is still very complicated and in most cases pretty unknown. it just helps, especially if peoples dont use scientific names. thats all.
