Good afternon,

I am still getting into the gecko's so just want to know if someone can help me identify this fellow. I did check in my book and identified it as one of the commen gecko's.
Found him under some zink that was lying around on the yard, was very moist where I found him, was close to Hammanskraal!

Looks like Hamidactylus mabouia.

I see the faint hint of toenails and raised scales on the tail.

Nice and fat one at that!

Yeah I agree with Westley although he made a small typo by mistake - it Hemidactylus - It is boldy marked so I would think it is a juvenile.

Hamidactylus, haha. I deserve a klap for that one!

I also thought it might be a juvie, but I've never seen any gecko that fat without carrying eggs.

Maybe it was just during the day? I've seen these geckos are quite boldly patterned if uncovered during the day whereas at night they're pale.

Thanks very much guys.
He was a juvenile, sorry for not placing something for size comparison.
Coming back to what you said about him no being so fat, only saw it now myself, didn't see it when I took the photo's but with the way he was 'motoring',LOL, you would never have guesed he was as fat as that.
Thanks again.
