Chondrodactylus Angulifer unhappy male

Hi all

Today got a male Ground from a guy and the gecko's was looking healthy but looked so unhappy
I redid his sand with the real thing(Namibia dune sand) will need to get a bit more to make it deeper and cleaned the messed up cage,hopfuly he will feel better.
Was wondering i'm getting in this week a another Pair Grounds and can i put him with the pair for his morel a bit or will they fight?
Or must i just get him his own lady friend?

Hi Oxygen,

If you are going to add more to the enclosure make sure they are female. The males are territorial and will fight each other both for space and for females, if they do this there will be a lot of stress on the both of them. If you add females you can add two or three more and they will get along great. Try adding some thin pieces of slate that they can burrow under and also some pvc piping cut in half to give them a nice tunnel system. Also plastic plants are great so you can mist the cage because the gecko will lick the water off the leaves.
