Please Help ID Scorpion...

Postby Cyro » Mon Oct 13, 2014 9:36 pm

Hi Everyone
I found this little critter in my yard tonight (Monday).
I would like to know what species, common name and how dangerous it is just for interest.

Thank you in advanced
Kind Regards

Not to clued up on scorpions, but I would believe this scorpion is quite venomous if you look how thick the tail is compared to the pincers.

1.1 Hypo Tangerine leopard geckos
2.1 Copperhead Viper
1.0 Bosc's monitor
0.0.1 Spectacled caiman

Looks like Uroplectes olivaceus.

They are certainly considered dangerous, although I would not fear for my life if stung, but it would certainly be a very uncomfortable experience.
