6 healthy little Ornate Cantils joined us on this rock of ours yesterday.
Too cute.

Mom was not impressed with my camera and I, so I didn't bug them too much.

That is not so ugly. They seem to be rather expensive overseas. I suppose they will command a serious price here as well. I have heard they are rare in the wild too.

These are now A. taylori. They used to be A. bilineatus taylori but have now been elevated to full species status

Good luck with the sexing, just dont let the babies suck on your thumb! If you need a hand dont hesitate to call.

A.taylori and A.bilneatus are good species - also they are geographically isolated from each other, i.e. there are no contact zones.
Hope nobody produces hybrids as with copperheads.

Congrats Graeme, first time I've seen them bred in this country, well done!

Congrats Graeme! They are normally quite easy to sex without any handling! The females are a lighter color than the males in every one I have had. I have bred them for the last 8 years or so and i had them for sale at the expo 2 years ago but no one seemed interested even at R1200 a baby! They always do well and are never a problem to start feeding! Good luck with them!
