is this okay?

Postby scotty121 » Mon Jul 30, 2012 1:10 pm

Would this be a good size for a adult and medium rack, the tubs.

22 litre crate L395 X W300 X H210 MM

46Litre, L600 x W400 x H210MM

Its to hold, corns, kings, milks and house snakes.

Also I'm using 2litre ice-cream tubs as baby tubs, is that okay, and what age can they stay I'm them till ?
Thanks,
scotty.

That would do but I'd rather use 11L tubs and 26L tubs.

Yes. A bhs can stay in a 11L tub till its a year and a half years old or 70cm. And then they are just moved to 26L tubs, they can live the rest of their lives in a 26L tub.

Nope use bigger tubs. I have seen rat snakes that are over 2 metres in length. Would you want to cramp them into 26l tubs?

Scott the racks you have are adequate.

Sorry Arno.

I was just talking about housies. My biggest bhs is around 105cm so a 26L tub is perfect for her.

I would never suggest or condone keeping a 2m ratsnake in a 26L tub.

I'm talking about corns, kings, housies, and milk snakes, not rat snakes.
Would my 22L crate be good for a sub adults? And would the 46L crate be good for adults? Or can someone give me some good tub sizes?
Also I'm using 2L ice-cream tubs for baby rack is that okay?
How long can all 4 of these snakes stay in these tubs?

Corn snakes are also rat snakes and they have been recorded at 1.8 metres in length. Honduran and Guatemalan milk snakes will also grow to this length and I have seen Florida king snakes at 1.6 metres and almost as thick as my wrist.

Scott of the snake can stretch out from one corner to the other without touching both ends then the cage is fine. If not then get a bigger cage.
