Tubs suitable for racks

Tubs suitable for racks

Postby Unforgiven » Mon Jan 28, 2013 9:40 am

Just wanted to check, but are the plastic 2l ice cream containers suitable to be used in a rak system?

It is to accomodate hatchling kings, corns and milks.

I have used 2lt ice-cream tubs before with no issue. I used a single heating cable to run on one side though. Just check your temperatures, used the lowest wattage cable.

Thanks, I wasnt sure if the tubs would be able to handle it as they are a low grade kind of plastic and flex quite easily. I have kept hatchling in them with good success but not in an actual rack system

With ice cream tubs you will have to make sure you build the rack so that they can keep the lids on.

What if I build the rack with dividers placed in between each tub?

I would rather just keep the lids on. A lot safer and does not use more space.
