THC-220 Humidity and Temperature Controller

THC-220 Humidity and Temperature Controller

Postby ewertb » Tue May 17, 2016 4:51 pm

I got a THC-220 Day/Night Humidity and Temperature Controller to help manage my reptile room ambient conditions. The humidistat however reads about 10% lower that the other hygrometer (Vicks model). Does anyone know if the THC-220 can be recalibrated if need be. I want to get another, different type hygrometer to draw comparison between all three and so confirm which is correct.

I've never heard of anyone controlling the humidity of their entire room before , sounds interesting what are you trying to achieve what snakes do you keep ?

I'm keeping ball pythons and african fat tailed geckos in the room. Overwintering my nepenthes and some other heat loving carnivorous plants in there as well.

Gets very dry in winter here on the highveld with occasional problematic sheds. Maintaining higher room humidity also has the advantage of greater heat retention in case of power failures, etc.

Ok cool ! Most of those Ringder devices which your is have an offset calibration setting , the manual will have it in there you just need to set the value.

Unfortunately the 'manual' is a doublesided A4 sheet that just explains the basic operation in very bad english. No explanation on re-calibration of the device.
