What do you prefer - Aspen or Kenaf?

I usually ask people to bring it from KZN. There are a few people who sell it up here but at a premium price because of the transport. I know that Croc City sells it from time to time.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.

Hi

I also use Kenaf and I think it works well. Except for the dust part when changing it. You can contact croc city and ask them, they buy it in bulk. It is like R180 or something for a 20 KG. I clean 11 cages 3 times over with 1 bag.
There is something that is much more scarce, something finer by far , something rarer than ability.
It is the Ability to recognise Ability

Jp where do you get it from down here?

I used to get it from a Equitac but they stopped selling it.

has any one ever used Kenaf for Iguanas?

If snakes can digest it, it should be no problem for iggies?

Shouldn't be a problem for Iguana's.

I'm currently using Kenaf as replacement for Aspen in a small collection. Has four drawbacks when compared to Aspen:

1. Doesn't mask odours as well
2. Moulds much more easily, thus I need to replace more often
3. Corn snakes doesn't burrow in it that much - for this Aspen worked better...
4. Dusty...

For this reason I'm switching to Aspen again (ridiculously expensive, but worth it in a small collection) or maybe trying Astroturf or bark chips.
Aspen really seems like the perfect substrate for low humidity enclosures though - pity its so expensive...
