Cage heating?

Hi I just got a 600mmx350mmx450mm cage.
Now I need to fine a heatpad that fit would a 9w or 14w work?

Hi Geckolover,

for what animal is it?
The difference in Watts will increase the heat output and you dont want to cook a snake that is used to colder temps or vice versa.

Check what the total heat output is and then compare it to what you need.

Sorry its for a leopard gecko and will be connected to thermostat for safety

I would personally use a 14 Watt then. It will create a descent temperature gradient as well.

But see what other users have to say, maybe one of them has a good point to use a 7 Watt.

As far as I can tell either of those would be okay with the thermostat, but the ambient air temperature of the tank might still be a bit low in some areas with the lower watt pad . I currently have this issue as the thermostat keeps the pad at about 30 degrees but I either have too many vents or the heating pad is a bit small for the size of the tank
