Looking for a clear "sandy" substrate

Looking for a clear "sandy" substrate

Postby ghoti » Wed Jan 22, 2014 2:49 pm

So today I visited Apex Predators near East London. It was an amazing experience. Such a huge and diverse collection.

I was looking at the many cages there and I noticed one the tanks had a clear "sandy" substrate. It looked a lot like coarse sand, except it was white and clear granules.

Any idea of what this is or where I can get it?

Its probaly granular Gypsum or silica, Silica is used as a dissicant and is probaly a bad idea to keep a snake on permanently.

Just phone them and ask them. Its not a secret and they are nice people who will help where they can.
