Natural looking carpet ? Maybe one with emboided leaf litter... I will look into it, but I still like your idea concerning the potting soil mixture.

While on the subject, Guys, there are a few rhino vipers & gaboon adders going around which have been smuggled in. Please check your beasts before you buy them PLEASE!!

PS... if you guys are willing to wait, we should have some available in about 2 or 3 months time, which would have gone through quarentine, dewormed, etc.

Okay, kewl. Atleast you know you are getting them from a eputable dealer, but everyone should ensure they have a healthy snake when they bring them home and close to any of their collections.

That was my next question, how do you KNOW. I'd never want to end up with a WC Rino or Gabby, but how do you know your new animal is not from trafficked stock?

If I am not mistaken, most Rhino vipers on the market are wild caught. That is why BB mentioned the deworming. They should do well in captivity if you get them at the right size. Not too small, otherwise you don't know if they are eating properly, not too big, then they will almost certainly be full of parasites.

The one in the pic I have posted is a WC.

Gavin also only deals in legal stock because he imports and quarantines the stuff himself. You can ask for a copy of the import permit at any time.

After the quarantine period the snakes will not have sores on them or look dehydrated like some which I saw for sale recently.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.
