The tails are rather nice and thick. I have never seen punctatus from the west, but in the east their tails are thinner it seems.

My recent trip into Kgalagadi was amazing.
Unfortunately I did not find many reptiles (becuase there was far too much beer available).
I did however see the most stunning yellow Cape cobra as it was moving around in a "versamelvoel nes".
As well a honey badger killing what seemed like a horned adder.

Geckos I found:

P. mariquensis
P. purcelli
C. angulifer
C. bibronii
P. garullus
ID???

Several Agamas, ground, rock - as well as a nice variety of skinks.
I'll add some more pics when I have time.





I have no idea what this is. Found in Mata Mata camp runing on the sand.

That Unknown gecko is P.capensis , very few of the Pachydactylus have those distinct tubercles

It was too far from the road, so the binoculars did the work

I also just missed a Crow and Cobra combat, when we arrived the Crow just flew away with his happy meal,
Some other people got decent pics, wouldn't surprise me if they enter capturetheexperiece competition.

The night before we wetn into the Kgalagadi we stayed over on a friends farm...

This is what you call active night searching - I be honest and say I'd rather do this every night than RC.

I must admit I don't like RC either. It's a relatively good way of finding snakes, but there is no comparison between finding a snake in the field and finding one on the tar. Any Psammophis trinasalis?

Nope. Not many snakes at all - in the kgalagadi itself you are obviously restricted to where you may do what.
We did however found one cape cobra at a picnic site right above our heads in an abandand nest (I have a pic of it somewhere, just to proof we saw it...)


@ BS: The 100-400 ended up on my sisters camera more than mine (she ended up paying my holiday...), but I'll send you a few pics I took with it sometime.
