Heat pad repairs ??

Hi

I have got a 9w heatpad and it seems to have a bad connection at the tips...

Has anyone repaired one of these??
i have cut the tips of and tried various ways if connecting it up again
sometimes it works and other times not ....still a bad connection .

i want to try and fix it first before replacing

I would replace it if I was you cause a friend of mines did the same he repaired it in sum way and then one day it took fire and you can think what happened

The conductor in the wire is very thin. You would need to strip the conductor bare to about 4cm and wind it back over the unstripped end, then crimp a lug onto it with a decent crimping tool. The only drawback is that the conductor is now shorter and the resistance lower, meaning that the heating power will be slightly higher, = the percentage decrease in length.
