I am also into marine tanks and quite a nice thing that they have is tank of the month so I thought why not have enclosure or pet snake of the month.

It could be a way for people to show off their prize snake or DIY abilities

Hi dude.

The Movie clips would be a great idea.
But due to bandwidth limitations It wont be possible to load them onto the site.

However, you could use something like www.photobucket.com to load your movie clips and then paste a link in the appropriate thead so that if people want to watch the clip they can download it and watch it.

why dont you make a place where people can rate reptile shops like name,location,condition off the animals,cleanliness off cages,etc and people can comment on the shops if they have visited the shops.it would save lots of time and fuel.im a member off sa fish forum and that way ive gotten to know where to shop and where not.there are lots off good reptile shops out there and lots off shady ones ,thus we can boicot the ones that sell and keep the reptiles in appalling conditions

diesel, That is not possible as we can be held responsible for what other say as we are a website with an open forum. Sorry, but we have discussed this previously (among ourselves) and it was not approved for the above reason.

cant a mod or some one first read the posts before posting them to ensure that sa reptiles wont get into trouble?

No ways.
Petshops are businesses that the owners rely on for their income, an in turn their wellbeing. For a discussion board such as this to meddle in their reputation can result in all sorts of repercussions. Agreed that there are cases where money is placed before an animal's wellbeing but that still does not give us the right to damage their reputation on this forum. Cases such as this should be reported directly to the relative authoroties by the complainant and not via this site. There will also be cases where disgruntled people bearing grudges towards a petshop will excercise their agenda on a forum such as this and mislead people with false/modified information. Maybe other sites allow this sort of thing but not here.

Do feel free however to ask for advice on how to handle an unsatisfactory situation without mentioning any names. Feel free to also recommend a petshop that has given you above normal service and you feel they deserve a pat on the back. Bottom line, no petshop scorecards here.
