Very nice! Don't eat those yellow eggs, they taste terrible.

My female is on Day 20 after her pre-lay shed. She's nice and swollen so all looks good externally.

I expect the eggs in the next week so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well without incident.

A quick question, how long after laying can one still safely seperate a "lump" of eggs?

I think it might be risky after 24 hours. She will be restless a few hours before she drops. Dont be surprised if she drops later than you expect. She can also go a lot sooner. it easy to seperate them. Just gently roll them apart. I have never torn them. It sometimes look like they are tearing but its just the outside layer coming apart. Give her cage a good misting every day from now on in, sometimes this actually stimulates them to start laying. And if the air is humid the eggs dont seem to stick as much. You can also put the eggs in a position more or less to what they have been laid in. I alway put them on their sides even if they were laid in an upright position, they always hatch.

This is so exciting...
Westley, mine dropped her good eggs on day 22 after pre-lay shed.
I only sepereated the eggs at about 6pm and she was busy laying in the early morning, so you don't have to do it straight away.

Thanx guys. Always good to get info from Old Hands.

I'm not to worried about when she drops as everything is up and running. I just hope I catch the eggs quickly after dropping.

Thanx for the advice guys. I'll update the thread when the action starts.

So last night, on day 24 after her pre-lay shed, my female dropped her eggs, but it was a bit of an disappointment.

I got to her this morning and she was so weak she did not even coil around the eggs, but at least she had gotten them all out.

The eggs aren't in good shape either. 8 in total, 3 of which look good, 1 is 90% white with a bit of yellow on the end and the other 4 look infertile. I have them all in the incubator so let's hope for the best.

Thanx for all the help and advice everyone. I am disappointed, but it could always have been worse.

All the best man, hopefully you will still at least get 4 biting machines from the 4 good eggs.

Yep, one month to go.
The eggs are doing well, all nice, white and perfect except for 1 that went off but that was the one that looked dodgy from the start.
