Chaco Golden Knee as a Starter T

Good Afternoon Fellow Members

After much Consideration I have decided to get a Tarantula

With some information gathering I figured that the Chaco Golden Knee is a fairy good tarantula to start with
I have been searching Online and couldn't get a Decent care sheet anywhere

So Now My Question's are

1) Any One know where I might obtain a good Care Sheet?
2) Whats the general price range?
3) What size should I start of with? (I wouldn't mind getting a sling as this will further enrich my experience)

I would go with the Chaco golden knee. For me it is just the more beautiful off the two.

If you are looking for care sheets there are some nice short and sweet ones athttp://www.sainverts.com
It will give you the most basic info that you need.

Ryuu if you take a look at the caresheet for the Chilean Rose at the top of the list in the Tarantula keeping section it would be very much the same. Both the Rosie (Grammostola rosea or Grammostola porteri) and the Chaco Golden Knee (Grammostola pulchripes) are of the same Genus and come from very similar areas in South America.

This is definitely one of the best starter spiders at any size.

Go with the Chaco. Much better looking than the Chilean Rose or Curly Hair. They grow to about 20 Cm's if I'm not mistaken. Try www.petbugs.co.za or www.the-spider-shop.co.za I know Tim at petbugs has and he has two or three sizes to choose from. Never had one but I doubt I ever will as I have now moved on to the Bird Eaters and Arboreal tarantulas.

Hello Just noticed your post myself and partner have also just received our chaco golden knee sling today!! Although we have had reptiles for many years never a spider.. So we have done quite a bit of research before purchasing.. One thing I have noticed on handling the sling was, as its walking it is raising its abdomen/bum in the air, More so on my partner than me.. Is this normal and what does it mean??
Any other information would be grateful always good to find out as much info as possible thank you

Well best thing to do really is not to handle your Tarantulas, or only when needed.

Chaco's are more docile but its safer for the animal as well if not handled.

The abdomen in the air is normally a defence pose.
So meaning the spider feels threatened.
