Finally we got it right!!!

Finally we got it right!!!

Postby Iggy » Sat Mar 19, 2011 11:16 am

and without even trying :) After a not very lekker season, in terms of incubators not perfoming and losing nearly all of our eggs  this morning I walked in to the frog house which also houses our leaf-tail geckos....lo and behold, there was a hatchling staring out at me from the enclosure with his big luminous eyes!!! Unfortunately it has lost its tail (presume mum or dad tried to eat it!) , and I would be curious to hear the likelihood of it re-growing? Looks strong though, and not a new hatchling, must have been living in the undergrowth for a few weeks! Viva natural terrariums :)

What species of uroplatus is it? Well done on your success!

Not many words can describe how cool this is and what an accomplishment this is.

It's gorgeous and VERY well done!!!!

I hope it stays alive as I think they're known to be fragile when young.

I'm surprised how big it is!

Thanks Westley, we are pretty proud, though as I said, we didn't actually "do" anything, it "just happened"...I think it makes it even more special though :)
