Naja atra...

Naja atra...

Postby Whitelipp » Fri May 20, 2011 9:07 am

Hey guys

I got a new pair of hatchling Naja atra last weekend. They are really cute little creatures with lots of attitude.
I fed them a fuzzy each on Sunday and they chowed down straight away.
Would like to know if it is a good or bad idea to house them together. They are the same size however. I am nervous keeping them together but I am not finished with my new rack system.

They will eat each other especially when they are this size and get hungry. Rather split them up.

I would keep them separate anyway for handling purposes. A little less room for mistakes if you only have to worry about one at a time. My kaouthias will only be paired for breeding. Believe me they can be quick when they want to be and handling one while there is another in an open tank will increase the odds of mistakes happening. Also, would look into trap boxes for them especially when they are bigger... you can never be too careful!
