Photo I've been wanting...

Postby Qball » Thu Aug 18, 2011 4:10 pm

Hey guys
Just thought I'd share this picture. I've been wanting to take one like this for a while but my camera is a bit long in the tooth and takes ages to actually take the photo (and I'm no photographer...). Seeing as they are so fast, I always end up missing the shot, or the focus will be messed up. But finally.... here it is!

Hey imperial. That shot is in her viv. All my setups are natural. Go check my post "my first puff adder", there are pictures there.

Now that is a luck. Nicely done.

Awesome pic. Your patience has paid off. Well done.

One way to get this shot is after a snake has fed and is adjusting it's jaws. same after a strike for a wild one.

I have video recorded a puffadder's strike. The videocamera basically takes 30 frames per second.Thats 0.03 seconds per image. It happens so fast, that there is no movement in all the pictures apart from the last two.One blurred photo with an open mouth ,and one that has it's fangs allready impaled in the pray. Will attempt HD soon to have double the framerate.
