First off, I want to correct some of my ID's. The
Cordylus polyzonus is infact
Karusasaurus polyzonus. The Acontias is
Acontias tristis ,the Namaqua Dwarf Legless Skink as kindly pointed out By Westley. The
Pachydactylus serval is infact also
Pachydactylus weberi Just with different colour & markings & lastly, the Barking gecko is
Ptenopus garrulus maculatus , the Spotted Barking Gecko. Thanks to Johan Marais for the correct ID's. Now that thats out of the way I just want to say thanks for all the kind words, I obviously had the time of my life finding & photographing all these herps. Where possible I tried to incorporate the herps into the landscape for my photo's as opposed to just taking closeups of the animals.
One last thing, just wanted to put the size of the padlopertjie into perspective. Here it is pictured sitting length wise across my index & middle finger! When we found it I was dumbstruck as I have never seen anything quite as small & perfect as this little fellow.
