Sorry you misunderstood. I didn't actually mean that the snakes Arno brought in, were endangered, I was just dreaming out loud.
I would love to be involved in breeding endangered species here in SA. Not snakes particularly but perhaps lizards, frogs, toads etc? I would love to keep African Bullfrogs for instance - if space allowed, and set up some sort of breeding programme to increase their numbers. Many of our lizards and chameleons are rare as well.
I am of the firm opinion that sooner or later we will only be able to see some of our reptiles in zoos and snake parks. With the attitude that a lot of people have, one day there just won't be any of them left in the wild for us to see.
It's just a dream, but then we can all dream, can't we?
