Some Amazon Tree Boa questions

Hey everyone,
just need some info regarding these snakes.
1. How much do these snakes go for? I know there are many different colour phases, so what would be the cheapest to most expensive?
2. Do we have breeders in SA?
3. What would be the best heating equipment?
4. Is humidity between 70 and 80 correct?

For hatchling u looking at anywher from 900 to 2000 a baby obviously depending the phase, garden phase being the cheepest option and any colour phase more expensive,,, for an adult u can look at anywher from 2500 up to 4000,, we do hav breeders in sa like snakes4africa, strictly snakes, creatures n critters,, I myself wil be having babies in the next month or so,,, ur humidity is correct but better to keep it up around 80 percent,, a ceramic heater works very well for heating and humidity,, putting a light in the tank wil unfortunately drop ur humidity but if u spray often enough it should be fine,, using coconut husk as substrait works well to hold humidity aswel,,,, if u hav any other questions dnt be shy...

Creatures and Critters had some beautiful ones at the show a few weeks back!

I bought those ones from creatures at the show:), al females:)...looking forward to future breeding with them

Brentton pretty much answered all the questions needed... just make sure you have enough hight that it produceses a decent thermal gradient for the snake allowing the snake to both bask and cool down, the temp directly nder the heat source should be around 30C... and the lowest point for the temp being 26C...

Just looking for a good looking garden phase, the other ones are a bit too expensive for a student such as me.

@shadow, I know how it feels to be working on a student budget, one nice thing about amazons, even if you buy a pair of gardens, you can stand a chance to produce coloureded amazons (though the chances are small, it is still possiable)

@brentton, I'm in George. I wont be buying at the moment though. The cage has to be built first and all the equipment has to be bought, so still a long way away.
@Strictly Snakes, yeah money is always seeming to dissapear too quickly. I will probably first get a male and then next year get myself a nice female after saving some money.

Next month.. Im guessing late March... thats generally when my females drop...

@shadowfoot... what style of caging are you looking at? just keep this in mind, Glass cages disapate the heat a lot fatser than that of wooden cages, but wooden cages battle with humidity, my suggestion is find out how the are done with other breeders and try use those concepts to incorporate into your cage design
