Going on past records, I reckon between 10 and 14.

Just another quick update. She went into the blue on Monday afternoon.
Looks like we are on track for baby Dumerills about the middle of January, which is bang on predicted time periods.

I took an updated pic of her yesterday, the poor girl definitely has a bit of difficulty moving around now.

holy cow she's big, in relation she seems alot thicker than what my rtb was before giving me 37 babies.

Nice going Roland, holding thumbs! Sorry don't have time to read the whole thread now, my battery is dying, is this the same female that gave you some problems before with still borns? I remember you mentioning that either her or the male was on anti biotics before and you reckon that was why you were struggling.

Any way, holding thumbs, will follow to see the progres.

100% correct. This is the same female. I shouldn't have too long to wait now.

People, I may be imagining it but she seems to have got quite a bit thinner all of a sudden.
The problem is that there are no Babies in the cage, or birth mess either.
She also ate a Jumbo Rat yesterday.
All I can say is that if at the end of February there are no babies, it could be as my wife suggested, a phantom Gravidness.

Very despondent at the moment.

Roland, what are the possibilities of her re-absorbing the embryos/foetuses? I have had that happen in my feeder mice and rats, so wondered if that could happen with reptiles?

I have heard of that happening Rian, but I hope that this is not the case. I looked at her closely again yesterday and the whole lower two thirds of her body is all fat and swollen again, the rat she had on Saturday would not cause a whole two thirds of her body to be fat, besides, I would think that in 5 days she would have digested at least half of the rat.

Maybe as Ferdo said, it could be the babies just moving up and down inside her.

One thing I do know, if the end of February comes and goes without babies appearing, then there will be no babies.

I'm not sure about Dumerils, but as I understand some animals including snakes can withhold birth for up to a couple of months. Also some sites on boas says that the RTB's can take from 4 and up to 9 months to give birth. With my own, it was to the date 5 months from the day I seperated them to the day she gave birth, who knows how long shes been gravid before that?

Her birth caught me completely off guard as none of the calculations worked out. She had her first shed after seperation in August, which I counted as post ovulation shed, just for her to go into the blue again beginning of November? I was expecting them mid November. After that shed I recalculated by counted 105 days which to me into late Jan early Feb, she gave birth 42 days after that shed on 20/12/2011???

This was a bit confusing as none of the calculations made sense, the time after the sheddings nothing? I received 37 healthy babies unexpectedly.

So my point is that expect th unexpected. be patient and don't make too many calculations

Bubblesharp, I am so glad the end result was live babies. Never mind the fact that the calculations never worked, you still achieved an end result.

This girl of mine has my moods up one moment and down the next, but I have decided to take Byrons advice and just leave things alone, and stop anticipating things. If she has babies I can say, yes she was gravid, if she does not have babies, too bad.

I have adopted this attitude because a week ago I posted that she did not look gravid anymore, and even queried the possibility of a Phantom Gravidness. Well, yesterday I took some updated pics to prove out my non gravid theory. Well when you see the pice you will see that she blows my theory right out of the water.

I will post the updated pice tomorrow.

Her body was shaped like a triangle with her belly being the base. I tried to capture it on film but I am not a good enough photographer.
