Philothamnus Semi Eggs.

Hi guys !

I got a problem with my two philo, I've been at work without taking a day off for 5 bloody month (without having a egg layed) and i'm going 2 f@$#'^€ing days and she decide the lay whilr i'm away !! Are they kidding me seriously ???!!!
Anyway when I got back tonight I saw those eggs layed behind the water dish but all collapsed because of the "dryness"? (is that english?) ^^ so I quickly put them on my compost which I humidified very well and put some damp toilet paper on the top as someone told me last time.
Is there anything I can do ? Or you thing its too late ?

Keep the moist paper towel on, I have hatched 20 out of 24 corn eggs that looked like that. Just try it, no harm in trying.

Kennyakagera i have rescued eggs in similar condition it's extremely important to rehydrate the eggs.
Personally i would use any form of moist moss to do so.

Groenslang's method works wonders too cover them completely

I agree, they don't look too bad. Rehydrate them and they should balloon out nicely again.

Those eggs can still be salvaged. Just cover them with damp moss and make sure the humidity is as high as you can get it. The substrate must be wetter than usual too. They should be fine. What you do over the next few days will be critical.

Thanks everybody for all the answers it give me a bit of hope !!!
So what I did this morning is that I took my compost put it under water, get reed of all the "overflow" if you know what I mean, and add some damp toilet paper on the top ... Is that fine ? Not easy to find moss here ...

Your eggs seem definitly done....
You should rehydrate them and check that the temperature of incubation is around 28°C and prey!

Hi guyz I checked on my eggs this morning and they are still collapsed but not worst. But now they start to have some kind of mushrooms on them :s is it bad ? Can I do anything about it ?

Could be something from the compost you're using. Just a guess.

Hi everybody,

Just want to let you know that two of the 6 eggs are getting better slowly slowly I don't thing I'll get anymore than that but would be fantastic if these two can make it !!!!!
Probleme is I still get those bloody mushrooms on the "bad" eggs and some kind of blue rings too...
Anything I can do ?
