Hi from KZN

Postby mrVynes » Thu Mar 22, 2012 11:40 am

Hi, I just found a tiny dead snake in my living room but no idea what it is (was). Can I post a pic of it here somewhere for identification?

Thanks!

That is a Marbled Tree Snake.

I wouldn't worry about them. They are harmless, and you should actually be quite happy to have them around.

I might be wrong, but I'm 90% sure of the ID.

I think it's just the lighting that makes it look that dark.

Let's wait for one of the KZN locals to help out.

It is actually quite dark, not sure if it's because i'ts been dead a while. Except for the colour the patterns and head shape do look very much like pictures I've now seen of a marble tree snake.

I would agree with westley's Identification. Body shape doesn't look right for a Cape Wolf snake. Where abouts are you situated?

That's a Marbled tree snake. Harmless guys and its been dead for more than a week looking it the colour and posture.
