I wonder if I am just jaded when i see people ultimate snake being something I have kept but so longer do?

Possibly I should be more appreciative of the privileges I have been afforded in the past.

Burmese vine snake at the expo?

Thats why I said A NUMBER of these animals and not ALL.

Gavialis gangeticus; Tomistoma schlegelii and Crocodylus rhombifer, but it would be a sin to keep these species without plans to breed them ;)

Do you keep reptiles because you want to make money or because you love the animal?

I keep reptiles because i love them.

A large part of the joy of keeping, is keeping them successfully enough to breed them. No one keeps snakes to make money - it's not that kind of hobby.
A few Cobras in your home will soon clear it of Rats and Mice. Of course, you will still have the Cobras.

Mrs s`mee

That i do understand. I believe that we as the hobbyist have to control the market or els we will have a bigger supply than demand.
At the end of the day its the animal that suffer because we cant control the breeding.

I want to breed my yellow anaconda with a granite but I also know that there are no demand for yellow anacondas. So why breed them?

Thank you for keeping it civilized

One of the signs that your snakes are having all the needs and requirements met is the breeding. Too hot, too cold under- or overweight, stress etc will not help you to breed them. It has nothing to do with making money. Remember these are "ultimate snakes" and they will be a challenge to breed.
