Good day SA Reptiles,
This is a new species record for me in Soyo northern Angola, so I thought it would be worth sharing. Last week two colleges of mine rescued a Vine snake from children that were throwing rocks and empty bottles at the poor snake. You will notice the damaged head scalation of this specimen as a result but other than that the snake was in good condition. The snake was found at the base of a mango tree grove and they are apparently often seen by locals in mango trees . This specimen was male and had a SVL of 860mm and a TL of 1370mm.
One for good measure
Regards
