Anaconda, milk snake or bao constrictor?

So i swapped the snake park a albino bhs for an anaconda and they said if i dont like it we can just swap back.

That was very nice of them,what is the name of the snake park?

No i didn't that's why I had to get rod of it but the park does.

I'd much rather have a albino bhs than a yellow annie.

Do your research before doing getting a snake.

Annies are not a beginner snakes. They get BIG and most are very very mean. Why don't you get some corn morphs? Just do your research man. I'm the type of guy that researches everything about a species if I even think about keeping it. Go back to the snake park and trade tha annie for a corn snake or a king snake. Maybe even a fancy morph like albinos. Annies don't even sell for 600. I have seen neonate annies sell for as little as R100. Do you know the sex of this annie? If its a male it will still be managable because it does not get nearly as massive as a female. If its a female... Well good luck mate.

I had a albino bhs that i swapped for the annie. I had to get rid of the bhs as i got a call from the animal welfare.... I wanted to get a rtb but couldnt afford it. So i can get a rtb for 600 and was hoping somebody might make me an offer for my annie (Felix). But i have started to like it..... It doesnt strike much but does turn around and bite u while i handel it.

I did do research into all 3 and the anne seemed to have a terrible reputation. But my burmese was more nippy when i just got him. I have had Felix since monday and he has deffinately calmed down.

I was simply put in a situation where i had to act quickly and had to take what i could get.

Wasn't the best decision to get the Anaconda ey. You seem to have been better off with the Albino BHS. Annies can go for about half the price of an Albino BHS. You could've sold the Albino BHS, and bought a baby Boa with that money.

You can get baby Boas for as little as R300, and I'm sure you could've sold your Albino BHS for about the same, if not a little bit more.

A bit off topic but seeing as grammar was mentioned... just a funny, not jab at anyone at all.

I know I don't participate much but I have been learning a lot from browsing the SA Reptiles forum, I won't keep an anaconda now...

Sigh. ..personally I think it is kind of sad how anacondas have been branded as being big evil snakes that don't make good pets. My 1.2m anaconda is as tame as my house snakes, yes I got tagged a couple times but it was definately worth it. Yellow annies also don't get that big, burms and retics usually get bigger (females). A friend of mine has a four metre female and a three metre male, both are extremely docile and can be s handled without any bloodshed. These anaconda are the exception obviously but it shows that they can become accustomed to us. How I "tamed" my little conda was I wrapped him around my arm or let him chill on my shoulder while I cleaned my tanks and containers. Anacondas seem to have a problem when it comes to movement in front of their face, and the technique I used helped a lot with his nippiness

Putting him on my arm or shoulder while cleaning snake containers etc. If you want to get tagged by an anaconda simply wave your hand in front of its face. By letting him sit on my arm he got used to movement and being handled while I cleaned my snakes, two birds with one stone. I say this "technique" worked well because a friend of mine has his sibling and gets tagged once a week while mine hasn't so much as struck out in past six months.

Just thought I would update you guys . I have sold my corns and burm. And replaced them witl more red tail boas! I fell in love with the species. So now I own just red tail boas!

My collection so far:

Brutus. 1.9 m male bci
Storm. 1.5 m male apparently a bcc bci hybrid.
Buttercup. 0.8m female bci.
Bubbles. 0.7 m female argentine bci.

I am planning on breeding with them when the females reach 2m in leangth and I'm pretty amped! My males are going on breeding loans this season I hope .

Ps. Yes. I did name the females after powderpuffgirls!!
