Durban Reptile Expo?

Postby Lillypod » Fri Sep 07, 2012 11:14 am

I heard there will be an expo in Durban in December. I would love to go and maybe even buy me my first snake and a snake for my boyfriend (he had snakes before). What can I expect and who will be there? I don't want to end up buying a snake an then it doesn't eat... or has health issues. And anyone know if there will be someone selling young iquanas and bosc monitors or any other lizards?

I went last year and it was awesome, there was everything from Iguanas to Chameleons on the lizad side and House snakes to Retics on the snake side. I picked up about 20 odd snakes and have not had a single issue since purchase. Prices where decent and people friendly, definitely worth it.

Cheers

It was in the middle of December, not sure of exact dates this year but I think it will be aroud the same. Other guys know more than me.

Lillypod sorry I've been quite busy but this is some of the stuff I got and the prices.

1.1 Bredls Carpet pythons R2K for the pair.
1.1 Spotted pythons adults R 1800.00 for the pair.
0.1 Aurora House snake R 500.00 I think.
1.0 Carpet python R 1500.00 (bit on the heavy side)
0.1 Sundevalls Garter snake R 850.00
1.0 Albino BHS R300.00
0.1 Horned adder adult R 1850.00 but I am told that was quite expensive.
Some other stuff like Taiwans and Corns that I bought for my cousins and siblings, they were in the 200-500 range though I think. The advice I got from the guys at the stalls though was priceless.

Hope this helps.

The Durban Xmas expo will be over the weekend of the 15th and 16th of December at Crawford college. Times etc will be communicated closer to the date.

BV - Is the same venue we used about 5 years or so ago, maybe even longer back than that.
If so, it was a good venue. Let me know if I can assist in any way.

I really need to make a plan to go this time round! At least I'm moving to the East Rand, so SOS will be much closer for me.

The Durban Expo will be held on the 19th & 20th December at Crawford College. We look forward to seeing you there!!

tobiasf, the Durban one is not as big as the Jhb ones as it's still in it's infant stages. It will grow, but growth does take time.
