New Snake Rack

Postby Russell » Fri Jan 04, 2013 7:50 pm

Hi All, :smt006

Below is a photo of the Snake Rack that I just finished building today.

It can take 32 x 11 l tubs or 16 x 26 l tubs or a combination of both.

Looks great!

So you keep lids on the tubs?

Sure Looks like it!

It looks great man.

Any particular meaning behind the color of the water bowls? Is it colour-coded or did it just end up that way?

Yup, I plan on keeping the lids on the tubs, as this allows me to use any size tub, as long as it is not deeper than 200mm.

I bought the water bowls/hides for the neonate ball pythons, that I am expecting to hatch in Jan and Feb 2013, they just happened to be Red, Green and Blue.

@kfc223 - Costing - it makes me want to :smt022 when I worked the costing out.
Melamine (incl. Cutting, edging, VAT) - R 1100
Extras (Dowl Pins, Ultra Wood Glue, Silicone) - R 250
Water Bowls / Hides - R 4 each
11 l Tubs - R 60 for 2 - Pick n' Pay Hyper having a special.
26 l tubs - R 70 each - Crazy Plastic
Heat Cord - R30 per 4.2m from ReptileCity (using 14W, as I use a 40W econo heater for the room temp - about R300 for the heater)
Thermostats - R 250 each (1 x room, 1 x heat cord - tubs )
Fan to circlulate room air - R 200

Luckly I have been buying a little each month, otherwise it would have taken a huge chunck of change out my pocket and some of the things I already had.
