Aurora House Snake DOR Richmond

Aurora House Snake DOR Richmond

Postby rvanhuyssteen » Thu Jan 10, 2013 9:48 pm

Found this Aurora on the road just outside of Richmond. The snake was still writhing when I found it so it must have just died. It was about an hour after sun set. I'd say it was just under 25cm.

Very nice looking snake.

At least we know there is still a breeding population in Richmond .............. or this snake ended up under a vehicle and dropped out during the trip.

I have two confirmed cases of this in the past week. Hitchhikers can confuse the issues.

I think the snake was from the area. I found it on the road after going for a walk in the nearby veld and the area is quite pristine. But then one never knows.
