Well... I tried the sandpaper idea and it worked like a charm.
I made 2 different small wall segment to see which one looks better in the long run. Will post pics when they are done. Most likely next week if not next weekend.

So after a few attempts at creating a backwall I have finally managed to come up with this:

I still need to paint it with acrylic paint which will hopefully happen by this weekend.

What do you guys think?

OK... So here we got the wall painted. This is my third attempt (the first one looked best but I didnt take a photo :smt021 )

I made another test wall segment so the I got 2 to play around with to hopefully give you the proper (wanted) result by next week.

So I havent posted in a while so here is a small update:

I havent played around with the paints recently but finished to grout the entire Vivarium

After testing the waterfall 4 small hairline cracks became apparent where the water leaked out, but that will be fixed by the final silicone layer.

Other than that Azure is now old enough to see that it is definately a male :)

Hi guys,

sorry for the long pause in my posting, Internet problems.

In the meantime I DID manage to complete my vivarium to 99% completion. Only thing that is missing is enough plugs for the electronics:

(for a higher resolution pic:

There are 2 waterpumps: One for the waterfall, the other for a garden sprayer that acts as a mister.
Temps and Humidity are controlled electronically.

Let me know what you think.

PS: I recolored the background after the last picture.

Hey Legion,

The enclosure looks great! you have one lucky gecko :) When you sealed the background what product did you end up using?
1.1.0 Corn Snake (Pantherophis (Elaphe) guttata)
1.0.0 Giant Ground Gecko (Chondrodactylus angulifer angulifer)
1.0.0 Dumerils Boa (Boa dumerili)
1.1.0 Kenyan Sand Boa (Eryx colubrinus loveridgei)
I love JKS forever.

Brights has a product called waterblok. It is completely water resistant and non toxic.
The nice thing is that it is cheaper than the Builders Warehouse equivalent.

I don't know the prices anymore 100% but the 5 litre waterblok was cheaper than the 1.5 equivalent.

My base wood is sealed with that.

The final outside layer is sealed with marine silicone over the entire build.

Busy running it for a week to spot any leaks.

Will post some pics with the night light on as well.
