G. rosea strange mating behaviour

Hi there,

I am breeding my G. roseas now and the male made a sperm web on friday or Saturday. I introduced them and they both drummed he tried to lift her and keep her fangs at bay but i don't know what happened, and he just ran away. since then Ive introduced them a few times and he just runs away as soon as he touches her. Anyone familiar with this?

Did you witness and insertion?

Sometimes the males are just plan scared of the female and vice versa.
Or the male has done the dead and it was he's time to get out and away from the female before he become a snack.

Give it a week or 2 and try again, you also have to give the male a chance to reload he's pedipulpers, after mating with the female he would of used he's sperm up.

It does happen where a male is scared of a female, you can then send that male to another female and he will do he's thing with out thinking twice.
It happens from time to time.
