Evening all,

As previously mentioned the Facebook Page found at https://www.facebook.com/GoFundAnimaniacs, has been setup as a fund raiser initiative for anyone able to pledge a donation in support of this cause. There is a pinned post on the page with the details on how to make a pledge. I know times are tough and everyone's pockets are stretched but every little bit helps.

A big thank you to those that have already pledged support. This is much appreciated.

Kind Regards
Clinton

I think this is great evidence on how a community can stand together when one of the members is going through a tough time. This is more than just a forum, it is a communication channel for a community with reptiles as the central interest. Great initiative!

Thank you to everyone who has contacted me thus far. I appreciate your willingness to help. Those who are making donations, could I please request that you send me a photograph of the animal you are donating.

He is in immense pain and has third degree burns on his legs and mostly second degree burns to his hands. They will have to reconstruct some of the muscles in his legs I believe. He is off the ventilator but will be in the burns unit for at least a month.

Just a question.
When and where will the auction be held and what will happen to the animals not sold?

Thank you

We will be holding the auction online and every reptile will be sold. Even if some pet shop buys them all at a good price to resell we know that the herping community will open their wallets as this has been proven to be a excellent fund raiser in the past and in other places around the world.

Cool, thanks Arno.

I would like to donate 2 of my Basilisks babies as seen on my previous posts.
When will the auction be held?
Where must the animals be taken to as I see Edward asked for lights and feeders. Must I hold on to them as I have the right setup for them or must they be taken somewhere?

Thanks

Its shocking to think I still spoke to him about a hour or two before everything happened as he was on his way back from Bela-Bela.

Sorry to Hi-Jack the post but I saw a few photos of his shop that burned. It looks like he really had a nice shop.
Does anybody have a few photos of this shop and facility in its prime?
You can either post the photos that everybody can see how nice it was or just PM me please.

Thank you

Can we maybe also do something at SOS? Maybe arrange a small auction there with some details of what happened and why we are raising funds. Not everyone there will know what happened and maybe we can get some more exposure.

Took the words right out my mouth...

Could put up a poster of Animaniacs then and now with a little cover story and a "collection jar "... ?

That would be great. At the JHB expo, Reptilians had a charity table which I think was very good. They had nice products for sale at good prices resulting in a big sale whereby the receipt of the money got a nice sum. If a few big shops and breeders donate old stock or slightly used stock and put them up for sale, the money collected will be very helpful. Not to be offend anyone here, but I think more money will be raised by selling outdated stock then just ask for a donation as some people will not care to part with their money for somebody they don't know but if they can find a bargain, they will buy... Just my opinion...
