Help with educational reptile show.

I live in Stellenbosch and work for a community outreach program where we work with children from the community. I was shocked to discover that the majority of them still kill snakes on sight - regardless of whether or not they are venomous. This is obviously what they learned from home and even school and very old-fashioned to my mind. My fear; despite the harm it does to the snakes; is that they will run into a venomous snake and in trying to kill it get bitten in the process so I want to educate them on reptiles. Unfortunately being a community project we do not have the funds to pay for an educational show - so if there is anyone out there who is willing to do it for charity and a good cause, please let me know !!!

Hi

I know a chap who does an amazing educational show for R1300. He can't afford to do it for charity and there are risks involved, but I think it's a sum that can be covered with reasonable ticket fees. I set something up like this in Greyton last year for the EXACT reasons you describe. I used a small café/coffee shop for the venue and they help advertise the event (they had contacts in the schools too). It was a huge success and was even covered in the local paper.

Well, the venue where we hold the project every afternoon. It is readily available to us, at no cost.
