Hi Scar69! I'm no spider expert...Could you see the fangs...as they tend to have an inward bend to them? The legs have stripes (similar to palystes nautilus) but I'm not too sure about the abdomen and carapax. Perhaps the experts could provide a definite answer!

Hey there

That seems to me like"Flattie" or Wall crab spider (Anyphops spp), they do not make webs and are not known to be harmful to man. They can be found on walls of buildings (inside and outside), if the body was flat and the legs held sideways in crab like fashion then it was definitely one of these guys. Any confirmation on this would be great but I am 90% that's what it is.

Wazted, I tell you what bud it it was not in a crab like position, and was pretty quick across the floor!

I agree. Common name is Flattie, but some people call them Wall Spiders. Although I have seen conflicting genus names; Anyphops and Selenops.

They are super common in places and it's not uncommon to wake up with one right above your head!

Correct, its a flattie (Selenopidae Selenops sp. or something similar)
These are fantastic spiders to have in the house as they feed pretty much only on flies and mosquito's.
