It was a pleasant suprise when i first saw my leucistic axolotls spawning a few weeks ago (especially since i got them as two females), and after eggs being laid, and 18-22 days of incubation, I have hatchlings!
what i noticed was that spawning was induced by the drop in temperature we (in the gauteng region) had a few weeks ago with the onset of a cold front.
The eggs were incubated in a separate aquarium at 20'C, and the hatchlings are feeding vigorously on live daphnia. here are some pics:
