Have one more question are the budget cage form pet stores sealed or do they just have silicone on the edges?
The reason I ask is my cousin is giving me he's old snake cage (he snake died last year)
may need to reseal and silicone it.

As far as I know Wooddoc is not an issue as long as you give it time to air out, and paint wise you can use paints like plascon or anything like that.

Those budget cages are built using chIpboard and the ones I've seen haven't been treated at all, it would need to be varnished or painted and then the corners sealed too. But without seeing the cage the best I can give you is a assumption.

Do u think a week or two would be long enough for the woodoc to air out?
Seen my cousin cage today I will have to repair try it and add a devider as the cage is larger than I through it would be.
And try build one exactly the same one.

It takes about 48 hours to get dry. A week would do it.

One other question I'm going for two month's oversea in a few days,
I have build the cages and I have got the sealer yet. The hardware store with only get in a day before I leave.
Can i gust place silicone on the edge and let the gecko live in there now?

Seal the edges and put the gecko in a tub so that the sealer can dry out. When you're back you can finish it off and the geckos can have a nice big enclosure. Rather wait until it's dry, because as they say, rather safe than sorry.
