Turquoise Boomslang from Northern Angola

Thought I would share some pics of this pretty specimen of Dispholidus typus punctatus from Soyo Northern Angola. The male Boomslang we have got here before are normally light yellow and black compared to this nice turquoise one.

This Boomslang remained puffed up in its defensive posture with throat fully inflated for the entire photo session, no wonder it tuned blue!

That second-last picture is a keeper! Would be nice to enlarge to A3 size and frame.

I can imagine how sore he must be in the facial muscles after a shoot like this, haha.

Thanks for everyones comments. Ja, this Boomslang was not happy with me at all. If I had to prick him with a pin I think he would have popped like a bicycle tube! ;)

Correction- Just confirmed this snake is actually a female!

It is deceiving how skinny she actually is because of how she puffs up in the photos but you can see the poor condition from the skin folds on the posterior of her body. My Alternate captured her after her tail got caught under the wheel of a grader. I did try to feed her but she was not interested.
