Tarantula Cages

Postby snake kid » Fri Nov 15, 2013 2:50 pm

Hi all

I am about to open a bug house in our snake sanctuary (Lawnwood Snake Sanctuary) just waiting final confirmation from Nat Con.

I need to make nice lockable cages for arboreal and terrestrial spiders, any ideas of cages as I am fishing around. They cannot be to expensive too make and should be quite big. Please add a Photo of any of your ideas that you have used.

Regards
J.D.

What about small exo-terra cages...? I know they are expensive, but maybe someone is willing to donate or sell for a special price.

Be careful with plastic or perspex cages as they scratch very quickly. Go chat to a company that replaces glass and ask them if they can donate thick shop window glass pieces that are still say 30x30cm in size then you can build your own. Possibly they can cut them and have their name put up as sponsors of the caging. Such small pieces of glass in 6 or even 10mm thick glass is usually just discarded when they replace these windows.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.
